The Barn Studio is situated on the upper floor of an italianate brick and flint building to the rear of the private yard. The building and space within is characterful, airy and light, with south-facing skylights. The view outside looks out across the private yard to Institute House, the Cottage Studio and beyond.

 

Facilities here include several high-end computer workstations, digital projection with screen and 5:1 audio, draughting board, meeting area, soft area and reference library. An ideal space for individual or team project work, presentations, or workshops.

Seating can be reconfigured to accommodate up to between 15 and 20 people, suiting presentations or workshops, a boutique cinema, or other more social gatherings.

The 70" powered screen is retractable when not in use, and is situated to allow ease of viewing and discussion at meetings. Projection supports internet and computer connectivity.

​

Video connection supports current as well as several legacy standards, together with full 5:1 surround sound digital audio

In addition to the digital facilities, the studio also accommodates traditional draughting, having a large fully adjustable A0 drawing board with specialised cutting surface, adjustable draughting chair, and attached storage cabinet.

​

All materials, tools and equipment can be supplied if necessary alongside plan chest storage, paper or card cutting, laminating, etc.

​

These facilities are retained mainly to support any activities within the Maker's Space, which is situated on the ground floor below.

Within the upper Barn Studio, there are facilities for relaxing, reading or researching, with several sofas and chairs available to lounge about in.

​

There are cabinets and shelves stuffed with reading and research material to stimulate the mind.  There are also very many books and manuals available for training and reference, from art and design through to software and techniques.

​

Tea and coffee-making facilities are also available to take a break, chat or research and bone up on many creative topics and ideas.
